Founded and run by Andy Selway MCIPD (Owner of ‘Selway Search HR’ and former HR professional), Corporate & Cocktails was set up in 2011 to provide an alternative to stuffy HR networking events in London and we have been growing and shaping the way ever since.
We’re here to inform, challenge, discuss and provide insight across HR, Talent, Culture and Technology, via our fun and interactive HR events, seminars, networking and HR community.
There is a reason the word “work” is in “network". It's because networking can actually be quite hard. But with our regular informal and friendly HR networking events, everyone from large corporate HR types to start-up, SMEs and self-employed HR types can find an informative and fun HR group in London, that will cater to their needs.
So we encourage everyone to come along to our HR events, mix with peers, learn from industry leader talks, share ideas, skills and make connections over drinks and great conversation.
Who aM I - Why use me for HR recruitment?
Selway Search HR (HR Recruitment) was set-up by Andy Selway (me) the Corporate & Cocktails Founder and I recruit across all levels of ‘Generalist’ HR roles (Permanent & Interim, Full-Time & Part-Time) and all sectors, specialising in high-growth start-ups, SMEs and agency type environments. I also recruit Office /HR Managers for start-ups and SMEs, as often this is their first HR role
Prior to working within recruitment, I have a background in Senior HR roles that spanned back to 2001 (the golden years of the legendary Miss Britney Spears!), some of which was as a freelance HR Consultant in the Start-Up/Agencies / Creative/Tech space. I founded ‘Corporate & Cocktails’ in 2011 with an HR buddy, to provide something different to the London Human Resources community, especially in the SME space. Early Bird HR is the niche London based HR breakfast meet-up group/event for those in a HR standalone role or part of a small HR team. We meet-up to share ideas, best practice, benchmark and discuss HR issues, all within an informal and confidential environment (over some breakie and a cuppa!). A great place to meet like-minded HR professionals and to expand your HR support network in the SME space. Particularly great for professionals in the creative/comms/media/advertising/tech and start-up space.
BrightSpark is the London based niche lunch time meet-up group/event for self-employed HR consultants who work for a portfolio of clients, as a generalist Human Resources practitioner (or plan to!). We don't just talk HR! The group also focuses on the commercial side of running your own business, business and client development strategies, as well as a sense-check and chance to meet other people in the same boat! Freelancing is tough, but having those around you going through the same thing can really help.

We believe in giving back and encourage all of our HR members to do so. This could be taking someone under your wing, either at our events or as a mentor, sharing your knowledge and/or giving advice to other HR professionals.

Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organisation that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. We support this organisation by allowing members to donate ‘business clothing’ at our events.
Suited & BOOTED
Suited & Booted is a charity that helps vulnerable, unemployed and low-income men into employment by providing interview clothing and interview advice.

cv workshops for young unemployed people
We run CV workshops for a handful of London based unemployed young people (20 minutes each) who wish to better their CV. This is held at the event and we rely on volunteers within our HR Network to provide this support and guidance. A very rewarding experience and also allows the participants to develop their networking skills and confidence in a friendly, safe environment.
